Snyder calls on Great Lakes states to push feds on Asian carp plan

SOUTH HAVEN, MI -- Gov. Rick Snyder is rallying leaders of Great Lakes states to support a proposal to stop invasive fish from entering Lake Michigan by upgrading defenses in a Chicago waterway system.

The Michigan governor on Wednesday, Jan. 31 announced the creation of a partnership with states and Canadian provinces bordering the Great Lakes to commit strategic and financial resources to secure federal approval of a plan to block the entry of invasive carp species.
