SOUTH HAVEN, MI -- Gov. Rick Snyder is rallying leaders of Great Lakes states to support a proposal to stop invasive fish from entering Lake Michigan by upgrading defenses in a Chicago waterway system.

The Michigan governor on Wednesday, Jan. 31 announced the creation of a partnership with states and Canadian provinces bordering the Great Lakes to commit strategic and financial resources to secure federal approval of a plan to block the entry of invasive carp species. Read More >

The partnership will offer a combination of solutions to reduce the risk of invasive carp from entering the Great Lakes at the Brandon Road Lock & Dam in Joliet, Illinois.
